Error description

  • Abstract:
    
    Attempts to use shortcut keys will intermittently fail.
    
    
    Problem:
    
    1. You are using an Eclipse based product
    2. After a certain time, you use a shortcut key (such as
    'Delete' or 'Ctrl+F' and see no response
    3. In the workspace .log file you see an error entry including
    the following message:
    MESSAGE A handler conflict occurred. This may disable some
    commands.
    
    Local fix:
    
    The only reliable fix is to restart the product.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Attempts to use shortcut keys will intermittently fail. This is
    caused by a defect in Eclipse.
    

Problem conclusion

  • It was an eclipse issue and fix was provided by Eclipse team.
    An Eclipse fix addressing the issue have been adopted and
    shortcuts should now work as expected.
