Problem summary

*                 with SPANNED YES                             *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: UNLOAD table space with 2 LOB columns   *
*                      using SPANNED YES option, resulted in   *
*                      ABEND04E RC00E2002F at DSNSVSFM         *
*                      OFFSET0794                              *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply corrective PTF when available          *
****************************************************************
User ran an UNLOAD SPANNED YES utility against a table with two
or more LOB columns. An overlay happened when moving the second
LOB data of one row to a LOB work area, which caused an ABEND04E
RC00E2002F at DSNSVSFM + x'0794'.

The problem was caused by the UNLOAD utility not
allocating enough storage for the second LOB column processing.

Problem conclusion

  • The UNLOAD SPANNED YES code was modified to allocate enough
storage for lob column processing.
