Error description

  • When WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition (FTE) version 7.0.4.1

"textReplacementCharacterSequence" set in the destination agent
properties file, failure occurs with error BFGIO0060E (Text

The successful completion of file transfer with the specified
character inserted for unmappable character is not occurring as
    expected.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
This issue affects users of WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition
V7.0.4 who are performing text transfers and have configured a
value for the "textReplacementCharacterSequence " property in
the agent.properties file of their destination Agent.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
When unmappable characters were encountered during the
decoding phase of text conversion, the WebSphere MQ File
Transfer Edition text converter was not replacing these
characters with the sequence specified by the
    "textReplacementCharacterSequence" property of the destination
agent. Instead, the transfer was failing with the following
    error code: BFGIO0060E.

This was a consequence of incorrect configuration of the
WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition text converter. The
    replacement sequence specified by the
    "textReplacementCharacterSequence" property of the destination
agent was only being used to replace unmappable characters
during the encoding phase of the text conversion and not the
    decoding phase.

Problem conclusion

  • The WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition text converter has been
modified such that the replacement character sequence
    specified by the "textReplacementCharacterSequence" property
of the agent.properties file of the destination agent is now
correctly utilised for unmappable characters encountered
during the decoding phase of text conversion.
