    ****************************************************************
During placement (events such as stopping and starting servers
or MMR linking) replicas can be moved to new locations.
Sometimes when a replica moves to and starts on a new container
server, the old replica does not stop. The old replica
continues to replicate and is displayed as an extra replica in
xscmd output of commands such as showMapSizes or routetable.

Problem conclusion

  • To resolve the extra replicas, you can run the xscmd command,
triggerPlacement. The extra replica shards will stop after the
placement is refreshed. Apply the latest fix pack to apply
