Error description

  • You are running CICS transaction server 5.1, using CEDF to walk
through your 64 bit program. The offset into the program
where the command is being executed is incorrect on the
display. the OFFSET displayed ends in an ODD number which can
never be valid. Here is an example of this from the CEDF
    panel:
        OFFSET:X'000415' LINE: EIBFN=X'0202

    ****************************************************************
When using EDF to debug an AMODE 64 assembler program the EXEC
CICS commands offset within the program are shown to be one byte
lower than the actual offset location.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHEDFX loads the program address location and has been updated
to turn off the least significant bit (which indicates its a
64bit program). This ensures the offset calculations within EDF
    are correct.
