PM86877: SA: Diagram layout scrambled after BPMN2 imports diagrams

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• SA import BPMN2 diagram without a clear start event produces a
  diagram with scrambled layout.
  
  Workaround:
  
  Add an unambiguous start-event to the diagram, then Launch menu
  command 'Format | Auto-Arrange Left to Right' to fix up the
  diagram layout.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• From looking at the diagram prior to launching Auto-Arrange, it
  is clear that the event named "Receive LOB System Account Data"
  is intended to be the diagram's start-event. However, it was
  rendered ambiguous by an incoming Message Flow line.
  Auto-Arrange expects a true start-event to have only outgoing
  flows and zero incoming flows.
  

Problem conclusion

• We proposed that the client submit an RFE asking for a change to
   Auto-Arrange and suggesting a means that would allow
  Auto-Arrange to treat "Receive LOB System Account Data" as a
  true start-event in spite of its incoming Message Flow line.
  

Temporary fix

• An easy workaround is to draw one extra unambiguous Start-Event
  symbol to the left of "Receive LOB System Account Data" and then
   draw a Flow line from one to the other.
