Error description

  • When several jobs are run in parallel that contain multiple
steps which run the FM DSP function, some of the DSP steps do
not produce output.  The step for which no DSP output is
received will vary.

Problem summary


    

  • USERS AFFECTED: All File Manager Users.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When many simultaneous File Manager
                       batch jobs are running, some steps
                       terminate with RC0 but don't appear to
                       have executed correctly.

  RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.

When a user has defined a File Manager PARMLIB as a dataset in
the logical PARMLIB concatenation, an enqueue on a File Manager
FMNxPARM member can cause processing to terminate.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • File Manager has been updated to remove the invalid enqueue.
Further, any problems encounted with PARMLIB processing will
now result in a non-zero return code.
