Error description

  • The Time component when read from CF is showing in GMT not from
    DB/file.
    It has to do with GMT as the time being returned by Classic
    Federation/CDA is 5 hours EARLIER than what is actually on the
    ADABAS file (GMT would be ahead of what's on the ADABAS file).
    Cusomter tried to change the Timezone setting but not getting
    the desired result.
    A code enhancement to provide a parm that can add to a job
    that will tell CF that T fields are stored in Local time and not
    to do the adjustment from GMT to local time.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Classic assumes that any TIME type *
    * Adabas column is stored in UTC and is *
    * presented to the user in a local *
    *                      format.                                 *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

    THE TIME COMPONENT WHEN READ FROM CF IS SHOWING IN GMT NOT FROM
    DB/FILE

Problem conclusion

  • The Classic code has been changed to allow a &L in the DDL.
    When this is included in the DDL, the Classic code will not
    adjust the time to a local time. Example:
    USE AS TIME 'MM/DD/YYYY HH:MI:SS&L'
