Error description

  • There are multiple issue when trying to set the HPEL logging
    to enabled:
    
    1. The server hangs during start up for a long period of time.
    2. The HPEL logs don't show up
    3. SystemOut and SystemErr logs are still showing up even
    though HPEL has been enabled.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: HPEL causes catalog and                 *
    *                      container servers to hang on startup.   *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When you update the value of the
    hpelEnabled property to true in the server properties file,
    both
    the
    catalog
    and
    container
    servers hang on startup.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The logic in the HPEL
    initialization process was updated to wait for server startup
    to complete before
    redirecting logs to the specified or default HPEL log file
    location.
