PM84981: AUTO RECOVERY RESSTEP FAILS IF JOBCARD CONTAINS RESTART=

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• AUTO RECOVERY RESSTEP fails with message EQQC047E if the
  original jobcard includes a RESTART= keyword, and that
  RESTART= is not the last statement on the JOB card.
  .
  If the RESTART= is placed at the end of the jobcard, or if
  the RESTART= value is enclosed in parentheses like this:
  >
  >  RESTART=(THISSTEP)
  >
  then AR RESSTEP works as expected.  But the z/OS JCL manual does
  not require the RESTART= value to be parenthesized, so this APAR
  will correct TWSz AutoRecovery processing to conform with z/OS
  JCL standards.
  

Local fix

• Until a fix is available for this APAR, the problem can be
  circumvented by coding the JOBCARD RESTART= keyword as the
  last statement in the JOB card, or by enclosing the STEPNAME
  following the equal sign enclosed in parentheses like this:
