Error description

  • When performing a CEMT INQ PIPELINE or WEBSERVICE, DFHPIWR
    receives an ABENDS0C4 at offset X'2F48' due to corrupted WSBIND
    files. The INQUIRE and GET_NEXT code does some processing of
    offsets in the WSBIND file even though the WEBSERVICE is marked
    as unusable. Specifically it uses the offset of the first index
    entry (offset x'12C' in the WSBIND) which in this case was
    corrupted resulting in the ABENDS0C4.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When install PIPELINE resource using corrupted WSBIND file,
    some fields used to access WSBIND file were set with invalid
    values. They were kept for addressing index of WSBIND file.
    Later a WEBSERVICE INQUIRE operation failed to detect that the
    WSBIND file index was addressed with invalid value. This led
    to ABENDS0C4.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHPIWR is changed to check if WSBIND is corrupted before
    using it.
