Error description
DFSISTS symbolic terminal output report is different from IMS V9 when SYM NAME= option is specified. The issue was found after IMS V11 migration. The DFSISTS0 output message text was definitely not the same as 03 log message text. In our case, the corrupted character was Japanese 'Halfwidth KATAKANA Letter'. Our customer use the IMSLOGP output when the message recovery would be needed, so the original data is required at the recover And does not want to use the IMSLOGO DD output for the recovery because of their operation. Then we accpet the fix like as IMS V9 DFSISTS0.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS V12 users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFSISTS0 did not support characters * * from some codepages. * * * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF * **************************************************************** Characters from certain codepages (such as Japanese language characters) were being replaced with spaces when found in the message text of log records. When using the 'NON PRINT=HEX' option, characters considered non-printable are replaced with spaces so messages can be printed with clarity. However, the EBCDIC values to correlate to "printable characters" varies based on codepages and languages used. When not using 'NON PRINT=HEX', message text was still being converted to replace certain characters with spaces.
Problem conclusion
GEN: KEYWORDS: *** END IMS KEYWORDS *** This APAR changes the behavior of DFSISTS0 to allow for characters from different codepages to be printed. When the 'NON PRINT=HEX' option is NOT specified, message text will no longer be converted to spaces, and the raw data will be printed according to the codepage being used.
