PM83936: cqtsadmin restore function results in incorrect FTS configuration, 500 error

Error description

  • When using cqtsadmin version 1.0.0.4 to backup and restore a
    non-default FTS profile for upgrading to newer 7.1.x
    environments, the resulting restored profile will be broken if
    the default cqsearchprofile was not used.
    
    Steps to reproduce:
    
    Set up a 7.1.2.8 environment with FTS, but do not deploy under
    the default profile.  Instead, create a separate profile as
    instructed for multiple user databases and deploy the sample
    repository index here.  Then perform the profile backup, upgrade
    CQ to 7.1.2.9, then restore the profile.  The 500 error can be
    seen after turning on the created profile and trying to run a
    FTS search.
    
    Workaround: Manually setting the FTS_HOME: variable in the
    cqsearchprofile_dbset_userdb.txt file to the correct value (i.e.
    C:\CQ.Search)will allow for the script to complete without error
    and result in a successful restore.

Problem conclusion

  • After analysis of this APAR we have determined we won't fix
    this issue due to: low priority/severity, the risk of a fix
    and a straightforward workaround.
