PM83861: THE DEFAULT VALUE IS NOT BEING SAVED AND UPDATED PROPERLY WHEN EDITING AN ENUMERATED STRING AT THE FIELD GROUP LEVEL.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After editting the details for an enumerated string field, it
  is not possible to save the correct default value. The
  subsequent value is saved unless the last value in the sequence
  is selected, in which case the correct value will be saved.
  
  The following are generic steps to reproduce the issue described
  in this APAR:
  
  1. Open a supported browser.
  2. Go to the OpenPages URL.
  3. Login with an administrator id.
  4. Using the navigation menubar, go to: Administration -> Object
  Types.
  5. Click on an object type (ie: SOXTest).
  6. In the 'Included Field Groups' section, click on an existing
  field group. (ie: OPSS-Test )
  7. Enable System Admin Mode (SAM).
  8. Click on the 'Add...' button in the Field Definitions
  section.
  9. Give the field the name 'MyNewEnum' and select data type
  Enumerated String.
  10. Click the double arrow next to Enumerated String
  11. Type 0 in the Add Value field and click the Add button on
  the right hand side
  12. Repeat step 11 for the values 1,2,3 and 4
  13. Click on the 'Create' button.
  12. Disable SAM.
  13. Using the navigation menubar, go to: Administration ->
  Object Text.
  14. Expand the object used as part of step 5.
  15. Expand the field group name that was used as step 6.
  16. Expand the newly created enumerated dropdown field that was
  created in step 9.
  17. Under MyNewEnum field, scroll down to the 0 value and click
  on the node to expand it.
  18. Click on one of the entries under the 0 value ( ie: en_US)
  and edit the label for the  0 value (ie: zero )and click save.
  18. Repeat steps 17 and 18 for the remaining values 1,2,3 and 4.
  19. Use the navigation menubar and go to: Administration ->
  Object Types.
  19. Click on the object type again (ie: SOXTest).
  20. Click on the same field group again. (ie: OPSS_test)
  21. Click on the newly created enumerated string field,
  MyNewEnum.
  22. Click Edit and change the default value to be: 0 and click
  Save
  23. The default value becomes 1
  24. Repeat step 22 again and set the default value to be 1,2,3
  and 4.
  
  Expected Results:
  
  The chosen default value selected should be saved but the
  subsequent value is saved.
  
  Actual Results:
  
  Depending on what value is selected, the system may save the
  default as a different default value.

Problem conclusion

• This defect was caused by an issue with identifying the values
  in the enumerated string. The code has been updated to resolve
  this issue.
