Error description

  • If a user changes their password while the Synergy GUI is
running using web mode, the interface will normally open a
dialog box to notify the user that the credentials with which
the session was started are no longer valid, and block the GUI
from accepting any new user action. The user then has to click
OK on the dialog box to exit the GUI session.

This works as expected when RDS is configured in standalone
mode. However if RDS is configured in OS Authentication mode,
the user is not presented with the dialog notifying them that
their credentials are no longer valid. The only visible
indication they receive is an error message in the lower left
corner of the Synergy GUI '!Invalid username or password'.

Any attempt to perform further actions in the GUI cause the
client to spawn authentication requests that will fail, causing
unnecessary load on the Synergy server.
