Error description

  • In an eXtreme Scale deployment that uses many partitions,

    ****************************************************************
    During retrieval and storage of metadata that is associated
    with OSGi ranking information for OSGi service, the
    OSGiGridAccessor.reportRanking() method uses the
    getForUpdate() method to acquire a lock when the lock is not
    required. Then, an update operation does not occur. Also,
    the OSGiGridAccessor.reportRanking() method does not retry in
    the event of transient network issues or exceptions.

Problem conclusion

  • The OSGiGridAccessor.reportRanking() method was modified to
    use an appropriate level of locking and retry attempts when
    transient error conditions occur.
