Error description
DSS UIM module DFSUDUI1 parses the task identifier form DSS Message ADR101I which was changed in z/OS 1.13 to add a time- stamp before the TASKID. This caused the TASK ID to be parsed incorrectly producing unpredictable results in V11. Addtl symptom DFS3144i

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IMS V11 Image Copy 2 (DFSUDMT0) users who * * are running with z/OS 1.13 or higher. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFSUDUI1 at sequence number 03860000 * * incorrectly parses DSS ADR101I TASKID * * that results in intermitent errors, * * incorrect output and unpredictable * * errors. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF * **************************************************************** Prior to DSS 1.3.1 ------------------ ADR101I 'taskid xxx has been assigned to command DUMP' IC2 captures the task ID from the DSS message and saves the IDS entries for the DBDSs that were on the last dump command that was passed to DFSMSdss. On subsequent task related exit invocations, we use the taskid to identify the DBDSs being processed by the task. After DSS 1.3.1 --------------- ADR101I is issued as above until the DSS server ADRXAIMR has quiesced for five minutes or the patch byte has been set for diagnostic or accounting purposes. Subsequently all ADR101I messages will include a time stamp immediately before the TASKID. This causes the code in IMS UIM DFSUDUI1 to incorrectly parse the time stamp instead of the TASKID and depending on what the value is for the timestamp the parsed result may be mistaken for a TASKID. This results in intermitent errors, incorrect output and unpredictable errors. z/os KEYWORDS: ZOS113T/K
Problem conclusion
GEN: KEYWORDS: ZOS0201T/K *** END IMS KEYWORDS *** The code in DFSUDUI1 has been changed to search for the string 'TASKID' in the message and no longer depends on a constant offset within the message.
