Error description

  • Customers sequential terminals are defined appropriately to
    support mixed case input data. All sequential terminals appear
    to work correcty with lower case transaction ids as input except
    for one particular sequential terminal. This one sequential
    terminal causes upper case translation to incorrectly occur,
    resulting in message DFHAC2001 to be produced. The DFHAC2001
    message cleary shows the tranid as upper case. The message is
    correctly produced as the tranid does not exist as upper case.
    The data within the input dataset is correct and has proven to
    work with all other sequential terminals. Customer also tried
    changing the sequence of order of the definition defining the
    sequential terminal within the DFHTCT and the problem continues
    to follow the specific terminal.
      The problem arises at label TCTINTD1 within DFHTCP. A TRT
    (translate and test) instruction causes register 2 to be changed
    then later register 2 is used as a pointer to the TCTTE, causing
    bad decisions to then be made based on random data being pointed
    to.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A sequential terminal transaction id *
    * is unexpectedly translated to upper *
    *                      case.                                   *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    A sequential terminal transaction id is incorrectly translated
    to upper case because the TCTTE base register address was
    corrupted whilst being processed.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHTCTI (DFHTCP) has been changed so that the TCTTE base
    register is not corrupted.
