Error description
If the TO RBA or TO LRSN (sequence-end) value is unknown (ZEROS) at the time when an LPL/GRECP recovery is initiated, then LPL/GRECP recovery logic replaces the ZEROS with all FOXES (X'FFFFFFFFFFFF'). This could potentially elongate the LPL/GRECP recovery time. Instead of replacing the sequence-end value with X'FFFFFFFFFFFF', it should replace it with the actual End-Of-the-Log value at the time of LPL/GRECP recovery.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All DB2 users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Provide more accurate "TO sequence-end" * * value in msgDSNI043I and msgDSNI044I. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Currently, if the RBA or LRSN is unknown, at the time when LPL/GRECP recovery is initiated, msgDSNI043I and msgDSNI044I will display all foxes X'FF' in the "TO RBA" or "TO LRSN" field. This high value may elongate the recovery time. The end-of-log RBA/LRSN is preferable to all foxes. Related investigation showed that there were some cases when LPL pages were added for a DB2 object that experienced an I/O error, which may not be during DB2 restart. In these cases, the LPL page was added but the ending RBA or LRSN value was not updated.
Problem conclusion
The code has been changed to display the end-of-log RBA/LRSN for DSNI043I and DSNI044I, if the RBA/LRSN is unknown, when LPL/GRECP recovery starts. In addition, the code has been changed to update the ending RBA or LRSN in cases where LPL pages are added during non-DB2 restart.
