Error description

  • Some transient spikes of CPU utilization and throuputs
    causes the Work Factor (WF) to stay high for
    prolonged time which causes unnecessary requests
    queuing.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Transient spikes of CPU utilization and throughputs cause
    the work factor to stay high for a long period of time. This
    behavior causes unnecessary requests queuing.

Problem conclusion

  • The code was updated to apply input smoothing, and to adjust the
    CPU utilization importance factor during the work factor
    calculation. This update ensures faster response to input
    changes.
    This fix will be included in the next available fix pack for
    WebSphere Virtual Enterprise.
