Error description

  • In CQ Web client, a text static field displays value as null
    when it should be empty on IE, but FF shows it correctly, empty.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1- On DefectTracking schema, add the owner field as a Text
    Static field on the base form.
    2- Checkin schema and upgrade database.
    3- Open a CQ record in Submitted state (so the field value would
    be empty) on CQWeb.
    Behavior:
    - On IE, the field value will show 'null' although it should be
    empty.
    - FF shows it as an empty field.
    - Windows and Eclipse clients display the field as expected;
    empty.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available in ClearQuest 8.0.0.12 and 8.0.1.5.
    If you enter an empty value to a ClearQuest Web static text
    field, it now shows as empty instead of null.
