PM81578: AFTER CREATING RAA DATABASE, EXCEPTION WITH ERRORCODE=-4228 OCCURS WHEN TRYING TO WRITE TO DATABASE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Client is installing RAA for System z and is able to create RAA
  database, but when running job that writes data to populate new
  database, an error occurs indicating that access to the
  database using JDBC failed with Return Code=12, Reason
  Code=X00F30006 and ERRORCODE=-4228 .

Problem summary

• SQLRuntimeException with ERRORCODE=-4228 creating/populatin a
  database on z/OS.
  

Problem conclusion

• Updated SetupJdbc.sh to include an example of setting up
  environment variables when using the JCC JDBC driver.
  

Temporary fix

• update DB2's DB2JccConfiguration.properties with
  db2.jcc.ssid=SSID_value
  where SSID_value is the subsystem ID of the DB2 system,
  and update RAA for System z's SetupJdbc.sh file if using the
  Universal JDBC driver (JCC driver) and the
   DB2JccConfiguration.properties file is in the /etc directory
  to contain a statement such as:
