PM81326: WMB V8 ON Z/OS - BIPCREG FAILS WITH BPXM047I RETURN CODE 00000082 REASON CODE 053B006C

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Some of the z/OS JCL commands, for example, BIPCREG, are
  actually scripts and require the _BPX_SPAWN_SCRIPT=YES
  environment variable to be set when using the BPXBATSL utility
  to run the command. Broker does not currently set this
  environment variable and instead, incorrectly relies on it
  being set by default in the local environment.
  BIPCREG fails with message :
  BPXM047I BPXBATCH FAILED BECAUSE SPAWN (BPX1SPN)
  

Local fix

• Add the following environment variable to the Brokers ENVFILE:
   _BPX_SPAWN_SCRIPT=YES

Problem conclusion

• WebSphere Message Broker has been modified to include an export
  for the _BPX_SPAWN_SCRIPT environment variable in the brokers
  profile JCL.
