Error description
The xscmd -c showMapSizes retrieves all the JMX addresses for the configuration. In a large environment this causes the command to run slowly and might even lead to timeouts.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of the xscmd command, -c * * showMapSizes, especially those with large * * environments. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When you run showMapsizes in a * * topology with several maps defined, * * the command can render slow * * performance and time out. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The showMapSizes command makes remote calls for every map in an ObjectGrid and MapSet requested by the user. In an environment with several maps defined per ObjectGrid, some calls are redundant and slow the completion of the showMapSizes command.
Problem conclusion
The number of remote calls was reduced and the performance of the xscmd command, showMapSizes, is improved.
