PM80487: INSTALL FAILS IF PARENT DIRECTORY IS UNWRITABLE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The installation of Worklight Server fails if the parent
  directory of the designated installation directory is not
  writable by the user who performs the installation.
  

Local fix

• Install in /some/root-owned-dir/IBM/Worklight, if you make sure
  that /some/root-owned-dir/IBM and
  /some/root-owned-dir/IBM/Worklight are both owned by the
  non-root user.
  

Problem summary

  The installation of Worklight server attempts to write a file
  'install.log' in the parent directory, which fails if the user
  does not have write permissions in that directory.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code was changed to create the install.log file in the
  installation directory, instead of its parent directory.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fixpack 5.0.5.0.
