Error description
Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v8.0.3 In the LPEX editor, when pseudo SO/SI has been introduced in a file (by checking the option in the local DBCS option), there is no way to remove it easily. Local Fix: The workaround is as follow: Open the File in LPEX Hit Ctrl+F to open the find widget Select 'Regular Expression' Enter in the Find field '[\x1e|\x1f]' (without the quotes) Press replace all
Local fix
Problem summary
When the local DBCS option is on, LPEX removes pseudo SO/SI characters when the file is opened, and adds them when the file is saved. When the local DBCS option is off, LPEX does not remove pseudo SO/SI characters when the file is opened. Thus there is no easy way to remove them.
Problem conclusion
If a file contains pseudo SO/SI characters that have been added by LPEX, LPEX now removes them when the file is opened, even when the local DBCS option is off. The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with IBM Rational Developer for System z V8.0.3.5 Fix Pack which is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=2294&uid=swg27006335
