PM80120: UNABLE TO SPECIFY SERVER ALIAS NAME DURING CONFIGURATION OF THE DATA COLLECTOR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• ITCAM v7.2.0
  
  During configuration of the Data Collector, there used to be an
  option to specify a server alias name. This applied to how the
  name would show up in the TEP if a TEMA is used.
  

Local fix

• go to the C:\IBM\ITM\dchome\7.2.0.0.1\runtime\$instance_dir
  
  edit kwjdc.properties --> Change:
  
  com.ibm.tivoli.kwj.serveralias=xxxxxxxxx
  
  xxxxxxxxxxxx being whatever you want.
  
  As long as the server is not reconfigured, this will not be
  overwritten.
  

Problem summary

• During configuration of the Data Collector,
  an option to specify a server alias name is missing.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code was modified to prompt for server alias if integration
  with an ITCAM Agent for WebSphere Applications is selected.
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in 7.2.0.4 maintenance
