Error description

  • ABEND806 for program DFSIVP1 attempting to run the IVTNO
    transaction.
    ABEND806 for program DFSIVP7 running multiple IVP jobs like
    IV_F205J, IV_F207J, IV_F210J, IV_F212J, IV_G210J, ETC.
    .
    Job IV_E206J assembles and binds DFSIVP1 and DFSIVP7 multiple
    times with different ALIAS, this causes message
    IEW2625I 4401 EXISTING ALIAS xxxxxxx WILL BE DROPPED FROM MODULE
    xxxxxxxWHEN IT IS REPLACED

Local fix

  • Run IV_E206J last steps named DFSIVA1/DFSIVA7 with the all
    ALIAS statements for example:
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    //DFSIVA1  EXEC PROC=ASSEM1,SRC=DFSIVA1
    //L.SYSIN  DD *
      INCLUDE  RESLIB(DFSLI000)
        ENTRY  DFSIVA1
        ALIAS  DFSIVP1
        ALIAS  DFSIVPD2
         NAME  DFSIVA1(R)
    //DFSIVA7  EXEC PROC=ASSEM1,SRC=DFSIVA7
    //L.SYSIN  DD *
      INCLUDE  RESLIB(DFSLI000)
        ENTRY  DFSIVA7
        ALIAS  DFSIVP7
        ALIAS  DFSIVPD3
         NAME  DFSIVA7(R)

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABENDS0806 encountered for program *
    * DFSIVP1 when attempting to run the *
    *                      IVTNO transaction.                      *

    ****************************************************************
    In the IMS IVP, the DFSIVA1 and DFSIVA7 entries are link edited
    multiple times using different ALIAS statements. During binding
    the following message may appear:

      IEW2625I 4401 EXISTING ALIAS xxxxxxx WILL BE DROPPED
      FROM MODULE xxxxxxx WHEN IT IS REPLACED

    The process of link editing multiple times, and using different
    aliases, results in multiple TTRs for the same module which can
    then cause an ABENDS806-04 when running the IVTNO transaction.

    The same problem exists with IVP module DFSIVA7 and its related
    transactions.

Problem conclusion

  • GEN:
    KEYWORDS:

    S806 ABEND806 ABENDS806 ABENDS0806 ABENDS806-04

    *** END IMS KEYWORDS ***
    The following part was changed to correct the problem:

      DFSIXSE5

    The binding statements of the skeleton were corrected depending
    on the environment:

      1. In DBCTL or XRF environments, DFSIVA1 is link edited once
         with two aliases: DFSIVP1 and DFSIVPD2.

      2. In an IMS batch environment, a single alias for DFSIVA7 is
         created: DFSIVP7.

      3. In DB/DC, DBCTL or XRF environments, DFSIVA7 has 2 aliases
         created: DFSIVP7 and DFSIVPD3.
