Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WOLA Link Server loses connectivity * * to application server after recycle * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The WebSphere Optimized Local Adapters (WOLA) link server permanently loses connectivity to the WebSphere Application Server for z/OS server instance that it is connected to, if the server instance is recycled while all available link server connections are in use. This is often the case when the link server is configured to reuse connections (REU=Y), because the individual link server link tasks hold on to the connections between requests. If the server instance attempts to contact the link server after it has been recycled, it will receive an exception with CORBA minor code C9C24C30. This minor code indicates that the WOLA registration name that was requested was found, but that there were no services being hosted with the service name that was requested.
Problem conclusion
Code was added to re-establish connectivity with the server instance after the server instance is recycled. APAR PM79938 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Pack 7.0.0.29 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0.
