Error description
Bridge encodes and stores only serializable data. If a hashmap with not serializable data is used then NotSerializable exception is thrown on console
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Customers using a HashMap which contains * * non-serializable data in a JavaServer * * Faces (JSF) 2.0 portlet on IBM WebSphere * * Portal Server version 8.0. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A java.io.NotSerializableException * * occurs and the HashMap is not * * encoded. Hence the HashMap is not * * stored in render parameter. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The JSF 2.0 Portlet Bridge encodes and stores only serializable data in the render parameters. If there is any HashMap which contains non-serializable data , it would not be encoded by the JSF 2.0 Portlet bridge and an exception will be reported on the console
Problem conclusion
The JSF 2.0 Portlet Bridge was updated to ensure all the values inside a HashMap are serializable. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.0.0.6 and 8.5.0.2.
