Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED:  Users of WebSphere eXtreme Scale that are   *
    *                  running on Windows and specify a keystore   *
    *                  or truststore with a directory that starts  *
    *                  with the 'u' character.                     *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When specifying a path such as          *
    *                      C:\users the 'u' character is treated   *
    *                      as                                      *
    *                      a                                       *
    *                      unicode character and the file does     *
    *                      not load.                               *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The Java security code incorrectly treated \u in a path name
    as a special unicode character and expected it to be followed
    by the unicode character format.  The code was updated to
    convert all '\' characters to '/' before sending the file to
    the Java security run time.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The fix put into Version 8.6 for this problem was backported to
    Version 8.5
    and is available in the 8.5.0.3 release.
