Problem summary

* USERS AFFECTED:  WebSphere eXtreme Scale Liberty profile.    *
*                  Liberty applications using WXS.             *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Running an xscmd command against a      *
*                      Liberty server using WXS 8.6 with       *
*                      eXtremeIO enabled, results in the       *
*                      command failing with the following      *
*                      message:                                *
*                      "Grid temporarily in an                 *
*                      inconsistent state". The command        *
*                      works fine when using the ORB           *
*                      transport.                              *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
The problem occurs when both the Liberty JNDI feature is
enabled and the JMX service URL includes a JNDI. This causes a
conflict in the JNDI implementations of Liberty.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The problem is resolved by ensuring that the Liberty JNDI
feature is respected and no embedded JNDI is added to the URL
address when running in Liberty.
