Error description

  • Abend S0C4 CSLSPC10+x'08C6. R15 is bad. ASID x'DC (user storage
    is used) not SCI storage. The error occurs, doing a MVCK, R15
    initial value(x'608) is bad but not invalid. The first move is
    for 256 bytes. On the 2nd iteration (+x'100) R15 (x'708) then
    overlaps to unallocated storage. Unallocated storage starts at
    +x'800.
    The problem was traced to a zero route pointer. This caused
    an invalid route code to be placed into the route table.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Intermittent ABENDS0C4 encountered in *
    *                      module CSLULCM2 when issuing commands   *
    *                      through TSO SPOC.                       *

    * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF *
    ****************************************************************
    When a command is issued through TSO SPOC the CSLULCM2 module
    is invoked to process the command. During command processing
    CSLULCM2 attempts to access the command's route list prior to
    calling a tracing routine. To access the list an XMD pointer
    value is used. The validity of the route list pointer in the
    XMD is not checked, and if it happens to be 0, the S0C4 abend
    may be encountered when the invalid address is used.

Problem conclusion

  • GEN:
    KEYWORDS:

    *** END IMS KEYWORDS ***
    The CSLULCM2 module was updated. Namely, an additional check for
    the validity of the XMD route list pointer was added, so that if
    the value is 0, it is not used and the trace routine is skipped.
