Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere eXtreme Scale users that run the *
    * xscmd command with security enabled. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The xscmd command requires all *
    * security parameters to be provided *
    * even though some of them are optional *
    * or have default values. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
Some of the paramers required by 'xscmd' can be set to
    default values:
-prot can be defaulted to 'SSL_TLS'
-cxpv can be defaulted to 'IBMJSSE2'
-tt can be defaulted to 'SSL-Suported' if '-ts' is provided,
    otherwise 'TLS'
-tst can be defaulted to a value derived from the file
extension if '-ts' is specified, e.g. JKS for .jks, PKCS12 for
    .p12
-kst can be defaulted to a value derived from the file
    extension if '-ks' is specified
-ks is only required when transport is Object Request
    Broker(ORB)
    and '-ts' is not
provided, or if the transport is ORB and the command is 'xscmd
-c clear' or 'xscmd -c findbykey'

Problem conclusion

  • An interim fix which eliminates need to provide the xscmd comman
    with
the specified parameters in the described situations is availabl
for V8.5. The fix is also included in V8.6.0.1 and V8.6.0.2.
