APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • 1) Aftering linking cells, APC may incorrectly place nodes from
the point cell(s) into maintenance mode.
    2) If a node fails to go into maintenance mode, then all of
the nodes on the server may not revert back to their original
    state.

    * revert all servers to normal state if *
    * the node maintenance mode fails. *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    1) After linking cells, the application placement controller
(APC) incorrectly places nodes from the point cells into
maintenance mode. The nodes are in normal state in the
administrative console, but in apc.log, the nodes are in
    maintenance mode.
    2) If a replacement server fails to start during node
maintenance mode, then APC allows the node to go into
maintenance mode. This should not be allowed because this can
lead to a dynamic cluster not having enough active members to
meet the required number of minimum instances.
