PM77605: DISPLAY THE SAME GRADUATED COLOUR SCHEME AS APPEARS WHEN RUNNING A REPORT IN COGNOS VIEWER

Error description

• A Report Studio report contains objects whose backgrounds are
  comprised of a Linear Gradient. When the report is displayed in
  Cognos Viewer using HTML or PDF output, the backgrounds are
  displayed as defined by the properties in Report Studio.
  ??However, when viewed in MS Office 2003 or 2007 PowerPoint,
  Word and Excel, the background is displayed as a solid colour.

• This is a 3rd party limitation, I did some investigation, the gr
  adient fill feature in Excel 2007 has VERY limited features, not
   comparable to what we offered to in Report Server, there won't
  be a 1 to 1 mapping to our gradient fill, and for whose can be m
  apped to our product, the color distribution rate/speed is diffe
  rent.
  
  Another possible way of doing color fill is to use a cell level
  background image, like what we do for HTML output, however, Exce
  l product does not provide a way of setting an background image
  at cell level. You can only have an image above a cell, not belo
  w the content of a cell.
