Error description
When using a Reference bound into JNDI to lookup a JNDI object in a foreign context, problems related to GatewayBundleContextProxy may occur. Such problems are likely to be ClassCastExceptions or ClassNotFoundExceptions originating in a third party context factory. APAR PM75089 may already be applied.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ClassCastException or * * ClassNotFoundExceptions relating to * * GatewayBundleContextProxy when using * * JNDI References. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The GatewayBundleContextProxy class is augmented to the Context environment only if the context factory is IBM's after PM75089. However, in the JNDI Reference case, the factory is IBM's initially but during the following indirect lookup it may be a non-IBM factory. The environment is already augmented with GatewayBundleContextProxy which may cause third party factories problems.
Problem conclusion
This APAR ensures that not only is the environment not augmented for non-IBM factories, but any augmentation added previously is removed if the factory is not IBM's. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.0.0.6 and 8.5.0.2.
