Error description

  • DB2DDF DB2DRDA defect pm76789 dpm76789
    The QLACPRID accounting field may contain the PRDID of a gateway
    instead of the end user. This can cause reporting processes that
    read QLACPRID to produce inaccurate results.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All Distributed Data Facility (DDF) users. *
    *                 DB2 10 for z/OS users only.                  *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The IFCID 3 QLACPRID accounting trace *
    * record field reflects the product ID *
    * information relative to the adjacent *
    * client, instead of the end client, *
    *                      when a DB2 Connect server is involved   *
    * in the client environment. *
    * This behavior is different from prior *
    *                      versions of DB2 for z/OS.               *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    A remote application connects to a DB2 10 for z/OS server via
    a DB2 Connect server (gateway). The DB2 10 for z/OS server
    captures the DB2 Connect server (adjacent) product ID
    information in the accounting QLACPRID field instead of the
    end client product ID information. This is different behavior
    than what was observed in prior versions of DB2 for z/OS.

Problem conclusion

  • To provide consistent behavior with respect to prior versions
    of DB2, DB2 10 for z/OS has been changed to populate QLACPRID
    with the end client product ID information (contents of the
    DRDA ACCRDB command PRDID instance variable).
