Error description

  • When running a PERFORM DEENVELOPE AND TRANSLATE command on
    Windows
    with PAGE(Y), the following error is issued:

       Message: TR0207 Severity: 04
         Invalid envelope definition detected during RECEIVE-FILE
         processing. Envelope name is X. Segment ISA does not havea
         CN data type defined. Interchange control number = << N/A
         Group control number = << N/A >>. Transaction control
         number = << N/A >>. Current record number = 157.
         ****FILE=qdatain.dat

    This is very misleading, since the data and env std are actually
    ok. Not sure if the PAGE(Y) option needs to be supported on
    Windows/AIX, since the documentation only refers to z/OS usage.
    If not supported,
    the option should either be ignored, or a more reasonable error
    msg issued.

    For sample test data, see PTR 8011664.

Problem summary

  • When running a PERFORM DEENVELOPE AND TRANSLATE command
    on Windows with PAGE(Y), the following error is issued:
    Message: TR0207 Severity: 04
    Invalid envelope definition detected during RECEIVE-FILE
    processing. Envelope name is X. Segment ISA does not have a
    CN data type defined. Interchange control number = << N/A >>.
    Group control number = << N/A >>. Transaction control
    number = << N/A >>. Current record number = 157.

Problem conclusion

  • PAGE(Y) on SR translations enables a special WDI z/OS
    feature called Pageable Translation. This SR feature uses an
    Assembler Service Director service named EDIZVAX. This
    service was not ported to multi-platform. The code will
    be changed to ignore PAGE(Y) on SR multi-platform
    translations.

Temporary fix

Comments

  • applies to all WDI 3.3 platforms, part of SFP9
