From the dump, GPR0 is x'00c90110' rc00c90110 , however the DBD
is consistent. The DBET code has requested the OBD for a
pageset ( OBDPSET ), but made the request using the OBD for a
table ( OBDREC ) in the xparmentrykey passed to EDM.
The lock trace lktr in the dump showed the application was
trying to do an update. A request was made of IRLM to change a
U page lock to an X page lock for the table resource . This was
    rejected rc08 reason code x'4040' .

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    ABEND04E RC00C90101 DSNIDBAE ERQUAL5194 was encountered by
UPDATE trying to set an internal flag to indicate that the
message DSNT501I has already been issued.

Initial investigation showed that the value of a parameter
passed to DBET was not expected. When DBET tried to look up
the pageset id passed, it encountered RC00C90110 (DBD
inconsistent). As a result, DBET abended with ABEND04E
    RC00C90101 in DSNIDBAE with ERQUAL5194.

Further investigation showed that residual information in a
change lock request made earlier caused the request to be
rejected. This resulted in the wrong path taken.

Problem conclusion

  • DB2 has been modified to make sure the flag is cleared so as not
to have residual information for succeeding lock requests.
