Error description

  • When an HTTP request is received in the HTTP Channel Framework
code it does not set the Host header using the request URL
before forwarding the request. If this request is forwarded to
a proxy server which does not set the Host header, the request
will result in a HTTP 404 error message.

    ****************************************************************
When building an outbound request the HTTP Channel will add a
Host header, if the header is not present, and add it using the
value from the remote host. This can end up causing issues if
the remote host is a proxy and the proxy is not resetting the
Host header on the inbound request.

Problem conclusion

  • HTTP Channel was modified to use the URL host for the Host
header while building an outbound request.
