Error description

  • When you do either a CEMT INQUIRE CONNECTION or an INQ UOWLINK
you get an abend AEXZ. This is occuring because there are no
more RMTK tokens for the link browses.
You will see RMLN START_LINK_BROWSE return with a browse token
of x'00000000'. This is then followed by the GET_NEXT_LINK with
    RESPONSE(EXCEPTION) REASON(INVALID_BROWSE).
RMLK class anchor + 470 = 000000FF. Which is the number of
blocks allocated for the RMLK browse token set. 'FF' does not
allow for any more to be allocated.

    *                      may abend AEXZ.                         *

    ****************************************************************
In the reported problem, a task issued an INQUIRE CONNECTION
command. This caused DFHEIUOW to attempt to scan for UOW
Recovery Manager Link Objects. To do this, DFHEIUOW required a
UOW_BROWSE_TOKEN but was unable to obtain one because they had
all 'leaked' from the system. As a consequence, the task
    abended AEXZ.
                                                                   .
The uow_browse_tokens had 'leaked' due to prior INQUIREs not
performing an DFHRMLNM END_LINK_BROWSE call which would have
freed the tokens for subsequent reuse.
The same problem could occur with INQUIRE UOWLINK BROWSE.
                                                                   .
    Keywords: abendAEXZ

Problem conclusion

  • DFHEIUOW has been amended by the addition of a DFHRMLNM
END_LINK_BROWSE call which will free the browse token.
