Error description
Bytes 81 to 84 are supposed to contain the segment length, but in the case of a specific segment in the user's DB, it is set incorrectly. FM/IMS should be validating this length field.
Local fix
Manually correct the length in bytes 81 to 84.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All FM/IMS Load function users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Load (ILB) issues message FMNIB847 * * 'Load error: The load file includes a * * record for segment <segname> which is * * not found in DBD <dbname>.' and * * terminates abnormally with abendS0C4. * * The problem occurs when the load file * * contains a data record in which a value * * greater than the maximum segment length * * for the primary and logically related * * databases is specified for the segment * * data length. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. * **************************************************************** FM/IMS does not validate the segment data length specified in the load records. It just uses the specified value and when this value is greater than the maximum segment length for the primary and logically related databases a storage overlay occurs.
Problem conclusion
FM/IMS has been modified to correct this problem.
