PM75497: WCM API WORKSPACE.PURGE CAN FAIL FOR NON-PROJECT ITEM IF NO CURR ENT OR DEFAULT LIBRARY IS AVAILABLE

 

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When using the Workspace.purge method against a non-project
item, it will fail with either an IllegalStateException or
NullPointerException if there is no current library specified on
the workspace OR if the configured default library is not
available.

Local fix

  • Set a document library on the workspace OR ensure that the
configured default library (defaultLibrary in
WCMConfigService.properties) exists.

Problem summary

  • When using the Workspace.purge method against a non-project
item, it will fail with either an IllegalStateException or
NullPointerException if there is no current library specified on
the workspace OR if the configured default library is not
available.

Problem conclusion

  • The code was updated to cater for the failing conditions.
