Error description
Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v8.5 receives IEC142I 113-38 abend when accessing IAM files. RDz uses the CSI (Catalog Search Interface) to determine the dataset type and then uses the OPEN macro to appropriately open the dataset as 'Non-VSAM'. Although IAM files reside on the physical disk as DSORG=PS Non-VSAM type of dataset, the dataset are actually VSAM dataset (DSORG=VS). The data structure and data contained within the dataset is a unique IAM format, which IAM knows how to handle.

**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: 01.All RDz users * * 02.All RDz users * * 03.All RDz users * * 04.All RDz users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 01.RDz server issued IEC142I 113-38 * * abend when accessing IAM files * * (Innovation Access Method). * * 02.The threadpools create stderr.1.log * * and stdout.1.log, even though * * enable.standard.log is disabled. * * 03.RDz daemon process and threadpool * * process have some memory leaks. * * 04.Two same userids can connect to RDz * * daemon although single.logon is * * enabled. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** 01.Catag Search Interface shows that the IAM file is non-VSAM file, but the IAM file has VSAM structure. 02.The threadpools create stderr.1.log and stdout.1.log, even though enable.standard.log is disabled 03.RDz daemon process and threadpool process have some memory leaks 04.Two same userids can connect to RDz daemon although single.logon is enabled.
Problem conclusion
01.Now, RDz server suppresses the dump created by IEC142I 113-38 02.Now, stderr.1.log and stdout.1.log are not created when enable.standard.log is disabled. 03.Now, RDz daemon process and threadpool process will free the allocated memory 04.Now, two same userid cannot connect to RDz daemon when the single.logon is enabled. The former connected user will be canceled.
