PM75156: SWITCHING BETWEEN TABLES AND PATH DIAGRAM TABS IN GRAPHICS UI CAN RE-ARRANGE OBJECTS IF .AMW FILE IS CREATED IN AMOS 21

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Opening a graphics file created in Amos 21 can re-arrange the
  objects when the end-user switches between the 'Path diagram'
  and the new 'Tables' tab.
  
  This can ruin a customer's effort in organising their objects so
  that it is neat and tidy for them to understand.
  
  This behaviour cannot be replicated on IBM SPSS sample files,
  however, it can be replicated if you create a brand new graphics
  file (*.amw) in Amos 21.
  
  Switching between these tabs should not affect the appearance of
  the Path Diagram.
  

Local fix

• This has been reported to IBM SPSS development for
  investigation and will be targeted to be resolved in a future
  Fix Pack.

  * follow the additional steps after applying Fix Pack 1:       *
  * 1.    Make sure you are in the path diagram view. (If        *
  * necessary, click the Path diagram tab.)                      *
  * 2.    On the menu, click Edit -> Select All.                 *
  * 3.    On the menu, click Edit  -> Move.                      *
  * 4.    On the path diagram click any object or ellipse. It    *
  * does not matter whether the object actually moves when you   *
  * click on it.                                                 *

Problem conclusion

• This issue has been addressed in IBM SPSS Amos 21 Fix Pack 1 and
  future releases.
