PM73337: AN INVALID DATE FIELD IN THE JOB CARD OF THE JCL CAUSES AN ABEND 0C4 TO OCCUR IN A NON-IBM SORT APPLICATION

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A JOB card contains the following HourGlass date and time fields
  in the Programmer Name Field: '//HGC12167 //HGF0630'
  This is an invalid date field.  The "C" represents the Century
  entry and should be either a 0 or a 1.  When this was a C, the
  customer's Syncsort application would fail with an Abend S0C4.
  Once the parameter was changed to a 1 then the job ran to
  completion and no abend occurred.

• Correct the invalid Date field.
