A technote was written to describe this support issue on old versions of Windows XP (Service Packs 1 and earlier) and Windows 2000. See https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21616685. This compatibility issue on obsolete versions of Windows was introduced in the 1.5.2 Installation Manager.
