Error description

• Receive abend 0C1 when running FM/IMS batch IXB function, with
  selection criteria that was created using the '|' value for the
  'OR' connector.

  * USERS AFFECTED: All FM/IMS users.                            *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1. AbendS0C1 when using a view or       *
  *                      criteria set with a very long selection *
  *                      criteria that FM/IMS can convert into   *
  *                      an SSA. The problem occurs when the     *
  *                      length of the SSA exceeds 4KB.          *
  *                                                              *
  *                      2. Extract (IXB) from a DEDB, HDAM or   *
  *                      PHDAM database does not extract all of  *
  *                      the root segments that satisfy the      *
  *                      selection criteria.                     *
  *                      The problem occurs when FM/IMS converts *
  *                      the selection criteria on the root      *
  *                      segment into an SSA.                    *
  *                                                              *
  *                      3. Extract (IXB) with selection         *
  *                      criteria on a segment that has multiple *
  *                      layouts does not extract all the        *
  *                      segments that satisfy the selection     *
  *                      criteria.                               *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
  ****************************************************************
  1. The storage area in which the SSA is saved is not large
  enough.
  2. The initial GU call issued by the Extract uses an SSA which
  may skip over some root segments that satisfy the selection
  criteria.
  3. The Extract does not always correctly identify the layout of
  the segment.
  

Problem conclusion

• FM/IMS has been modified to correct all of these problems.
