Error description

  • When a long rule is entered into the rule display/edit window of
the WTX Map Designer, the left margin shows line numbers.

If the rule contains no <NL> characters, then the only number
displayed is 1. Entering <NL> characters results in the numbers
    2, 3 and beyond.

If the length of any line exceeds the display width it is
automatically wrapped, but this does not count as a <NL>.

Where the length of the lines exceeds the display width, it is
expected that the line numbers would 'line up' with the row
following the <NL> character, but they do not.

    Circumvention: None

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
WebSphere Transformation Extender customers using Design Studio

    Problem Description:
Design Studio places the line number incorrectly in the map rule
window. Although it shows the correct number of lines in the map
rule, but aligns the line number incorrectly to the adjacent
column that shows the line numbers for the map rule. Line
numbers match to the number of CR/LFs in the map rule as
    expected

    Platforms Affected:
    Win32

Problem conclusion

  • This is a problem with the Eclipse tool.
A mapping between the model lines and the visual lines does not
exist. It will not be fixed in the current version of WTX.
